Greenwood Hardware has been selling and installing water heaters for more than 35 years, with thousands of satisfied customers in the city of Seattle. We primarily install Bradford White water heaters, with excellent prices and a reputation for quality since 1981.

In addition to residential work, we are RHA (Rental Housing Association) members specializing in meeting the water heater needs of apartment owners and property managers. We also work with landlords to develop cost effective and efficient water heater replacement programs.
Greenwood Hardware stands behind every water heater installation job! Parts and labor are totally covered in the first year. Parts are covered under the tank warranty thereafter.
Most tanks are 6 year warranties, but extended warranties are often available. Regardless of warranty, most tanks in our area last 12-15 years. We highly recommend to replace any tank installed in a finished area around 10 years unless its pan is plumbed into a drain.
Installations
Most installations take about two hours. Installation service is available five days a week, with emergency service on Saturdays. Scheduling and installation are often available within 24 hours of order. Same day service is available in most cases for leaking water heaters.

We stock a wide range of gas and electric heaters from 20 gallons to 80 gallons, with configurations to meet most capacity and size requirements for houses, condos, and apartments. Our Standard Water Heater Installation Package includes new copper flex connectors, installation of new heat traps, drainage and disposal of your old water heater, and in most cases, no labor charge for installation of new valves. There are no transportation fees WITHIN Seattle city limits.

On-Demand or Tankless Water Heaters
We do not install nor generally recommend tankless water heaters for a variety of reasons.
The Green Building Advisor explains many of the advantages and disadvantages of going tankless. The numbers for Seattle are often even worse as most houses don’t have large enough gas lines, which can more than double the cost for the installation.
